Survive and hide from the monstrous Impostor

Impostor Hide Online is a free action-strategy video game wherein you must hide while finishing all your tasks in order to survive. Developed by MoustacheBanana, this 3D indie game is a first-person survival horror escape game—although the only escape is by winning the match.

Clearly inspired by and parodying the popular Among Us game, Impostor Hide Online is more about the inevitability of defeating the monster. Instead, you must stay out of sight to escape its grasp. It’s not too scary thanks to some of its cute 3D models but it can still be high in tension whenever you play.

A different kind of space adventure

Similar to games like Alien: Isolation, Dead by Daylight, Secret Neighbor, and many other horror games, Impostor Hide Online—also formerly known as just “Impostor Hide”—features the gameplay of evading the enemy while you complete objectives. This is usually due to the enemy being too powerful for mere weapons to defeat. In Impostor Hide Online, in particular, the Impostor no longer hides its identity and now actively hunts Crewmates.

There are still several similarities between this game and Among Us. The Crewmates must still finish tasks given to them to win. The map is the same as “The Skeld” map. Plus, the Impostor can both kill and sabotage systems. However, there are numerous differences, too. For one, the Impostor can’t use vents. The Crewmates have the ability to become invisible for a while and hide under tables

The map is now lovingly rendered in 3D so you can walk through it normally in first and third-person POV rather than from a top-down view. You can play the game solo with bots—and they get harder to deal with at later levels. There’s also an online multiplayer mode if you want real players. The only real problem here is that it doesn’t have a tutorial like in Among Us.

Stay alive for as long as you can

All in all, Impostor Hide Online is an interesting fan game to try out if you want more challenges from the original Among Us game. While it shifts the genre to survival horror, it’s still familiar enough that both new and old fans will appreciate how well stays true to some of the major aspects of the other game. This game also has a mobile version called Imposter Hide Online 3D Horror.
